B&B La Casita Azul
Once upon a time ...
there was this
little blue cottage in a lush green valley,
somewhere in the high north of Spain,
tucked away between the Atlantic Ocean
and the Cantabrian Mountains,
green hills, fragrant eucalyptus trees,
rugged coastlines, deserted beaches,
sweet cider and salty cheese...
just a fairy tale or your next holiday destination?
Our blue cottage is situated in the Spanish province of Asturias, "Spain's best kept secret" according to international travel bloggers. A mountainous green paradise in the high north of Spain, very popular with the Spanish people, but still fairly unknown to foreign tourists.
It has so many amazing beaches (more than 200!), a rough and wild coastline, impressive mountains, several natural parks with rivers, forests, lakes and green hills.
Also the northern route of the famous pilgrimage Camino de Santiago runs through Asturias (Camino del Norte and Camino Primitivo).
Typical for Asturias are the cows, the cheese and the cider.
But it is also the country of the eucalyptus trees, the colourful hortensias and the last wolves and bears, that still live in the wild.
